A unique restaurant in a historic building
Restaurant Lia is located in the Erottaja2 high-value property, which is anything but an ordinary property for a restaurant.
One of the oldest buildings in Helsinki was built in 1891, 1905 and 1915 and was designed by architect Theodor Höijer. Höijer was a leading Finnish architect of his time, and his masterpieces include the Ateneum. Our hexagonal restaurant hall is one of the most significant rooms in the building, almost in its original form.
The property was renovated in 2019-2021, respecting both modernity and the exceptional elements of the property and the layering that has been created over more than 130 years.
The building served as the customs office building for almost 100 years. It is now open to the public for the first time.

The Night Sun – the house's own House Duo, every Friday at 7:30 PM
Both entrepreneur Sini and our employee Tedo have been involved in music since childhood. Our musical background inspired us to create the weekly House Duo. Tedo, together with his wife Tata, is responsible for the unique musical atmosphere of Bar Lia every Friday from 7:30 PM. The list includes international classics, Georgian songs as well as the duo's own production.
